Textures: 10(Some unused textures are present)Vittorio Veneto was a helicopter cruiser that served with the Italian Navy. Originally intended to be a class of two ships specifically designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), only Vittorio Veneto entered into service in 1969, its sister ship Italia being cancelled. Vittorio Veneto was placed into reserve in 2003 and decommissioned in 2006. This ship has the same general layout as the smaller Andrea Doria-class helicopter cruisers, but with two elevators in the flight deck and the hangar below, rather than with the hangar as part of the superstructure. It was named for the decisive Battle of Vittorio Veneto which ended World War I on the Italian front.

-Wikipedia-

My latest 3D project is the Vittorio Veneto-class helicopter cruiser, a vessel formerly operated by the Italian Navy.

I started this project on December 11th and finished it today, December 18th. It took just 8 days to complete. I had originally estimated a timeline of about 14 days, but by working efficiently, I managed to save 6 days.

This 179.5m-long cruiser was capable of carrying up to 9 helicopters and featured a helicopter elevator located behind the bridge (though this specific feature was not modeled in this asset). After its decommissioning in 2003, there were plans to convert it into a museum ship in Taranto. However, due to issues such as asbestos, these plans fell through, and it was reportedly scrapped in Turkey in 2021.

As is often the case with warship modeling, the hull and bridge were completed within the first couple of days, while the remaining 6 to 7 days were dedicated to detailing. In particular, I spent about 1 to 2 days separately modeling the '76mm/L62 Allargato' guns mounted on this vessel. Overall, I am very satisfied with the result.

In this asset, functions such as screw rotation and radar rotation are included.
