A 6mm scale SciFi fast-attack light ground effect vehicle / hovercraft.

The Cricket L-GEV/HC (light ground effect vehicle / hovercraft) produced by Aluein Engineering, is an unusual hybrid design created for the specific planetological conditions of the great Western Plains of Dirwell. These vast sunken flatlands, remnants of ancient hemisphere-spanning oceans that have long since evaporated, are perfectly suited for swift hovercraft augmented with folding wings that exploit the airlift enhancement of the close ground effect. This gave rise to the light, single-seater Cricket hovercraft as a plains-runner scout.

Aptly named for the Terran insect species that rapidly adapted to Dirwell and helped early human colonisers to eco-form it, Crickets have been mass-manufactured now for close to a century. As such, they can be found in the employ of nearly every faction on Dirwell and are often fielded in large numbers for mutual support. This has led to some unusual, high-speed engagements between ‘swarms’ of Crickets on the Red Dust Plains north of Govone, especially between the Red Dust Security PMC and so-called Badlander bandits.
