The Aggregat 4 was produced between 1942, and 1945, using slave labour. Thousands of A4 missiles were launched against the UK, Belgium and other parts of Allied-occupied Europe.

During the war the greatest altitude reached by an A4 was 11 miles. Captured A4 rockets were used to kick start the American space programme.
