The Admiralty bell tower was built around 1699 and was originally the Karlskrona shipyard'sgruel bell , intended to make the work at the shipyard more efficient by specifying the time forthe work.

The belfry is located in the middle of the Admiralty Park on the slope where it was once plannedto build the stone church that would replace Karlskrona Admiralty Parish's wooden church, theAdmiralty Church . The church was never completed and the wooden church instead became theparish's permanent church.In 1856 , an external renovation was made when the belfry got corner chains, moldings andcrescent-shaped windows. It was not until 1909 that the belfry came to be used as the Belfry ofthe Admiralty Church.
