The Papyrus Boat was a very common boat in Ancient Egypt and it was used on the Nile, in the oasis and in the wetlands and lagoons rich in papyri forests.
To spend a day in a lagoon in a papyri forest on a papyrus boat was considered a romantic trip for two lovers or for husband and wife or another quite pleasure day for the whole family.
A wood plane was the mark of distinction of the luxury boats, since wood was an expensive material in Ancient Egypt. The common papyrus boat was without wood plane.
This type of boat was used also for fishing or to hunt hippopotami and crocodiles.
