HISTORICAL NOTE: The Austro-Daimler Panzerautomobil, can be considered the first modern armored car. Developed in 1904 by engineer Paul Daimler, the vehicle was built in 1905 and had four-wheel drive - revolutionary for the time. The body was fully armored and a rotating tower (360 °), the vehicle featured many elements that would be used in later armored car designs.
