Spur Gear is a very simple form of gear.It has teeth around its disc, parallel to the axis of the disc.This type of gear keeps the axis of rotation parallel.Bevel Gear on the other hand has teeth slanted to the axis of the disc.Which gives the gear conical look.Axis of rotation of two bevel gears intersects each other.This type of gear is used to change the axis of rotation.

Spur gear is used to transmit power between two parallel shaft. (It transfer power form one shaft to another shaft.)Whereas, bevel gear is used to transmit power between two perpendicular shafts.
