The BMMP-1 is a amphibious infantry fighting vehicle design to replace the soviet era PT-76. The BMMP-1 comes in two primary configurations, the anti-tank variant is equipped with BEREZHOK turret which has 4x KORNET ATGM launchers and a 30MM cannon and coaxial heavy machine gun. the other configuration is designed to defeat bunkers and infantry has a AU-122M unmanned turret which mounts a 57mm cannon, 2x KORNET ATGM launchers and a light coaxial machine gun.

Both vehicles are design for water operations using a hydroplane and water jet system, they can move at up to 40km a hour in sea states up to 3. The BMMP-1 is design to be launch from assault ships in the Russian navy and transport Russian naval infantry from water to land.
