This is the British Mark I 20lb Fragmentation bomb. Like its smaller 8lb cousin, this bomb is used for anti-personnel purposes. There were four variants of this bomb, the Mk I, II, III, and IV. By 1946 all variants except for the Mk III were obsolete. There were also two other different 20lb bombs, the parachute and cluster bomb types. This is a model of the standard 20lb bomb, which could be fitted with suspension lugs for aircraft. Eight could be carried in the 160lb small bomb container; twelve in the 250lb small bomb container. This bomb could carry a little over 3 pounds of either TNT or RDX/TNT.
