The Carbide and Carbon Building is a 503ft (153m) tall building in Chicago, Illinois. This art-deco building, built in 1929, features stylized gilded ornamentation to reflect the riches of the era. It was designed by the Burnham Brothers, the sons of world-famous Chicago architect Daniel Burnham. According to some, the building was designed to resemble a champaign bottle.The building now operates as a hotel.
