The Black Pearl is a fictional galleon from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. The Black Pearl is easily recognizable by its black sails. The ship is 40 m long and 10 m wide. The ship was called the Wicked Wench before it was sunk by Lord Becket. The ship was later raised from the bottom by Davy Jones after making a pact with Captain Jack Sparrow, who gave the ship a new name. In the first film, she is called almost elusive. Over the course of three films, she easily catches up and moves away from any ships, including the British ship Interceptor and the Flying Dutchman (going faster than the wind). Its speed is supported by a large number of sails. In the third film, the ship is noted as the only ship to which the Flying Dutchman is inferior in speed.
