A bas-relief is a three-dimensional image carved on a plane, which is created using a three-dimensional computer model. In this case, the model was created using photo scanning, which allows to get the most accurate copy of the original object.

The process of photo scanning of the bas-relief includes taking pictures of the object from different angles using specialized equipment that allows to create a set of images covering the surface of the object. These images are then processed using special programs that create a 3D model based on the data obtained from the photos.

As a result of the project, in addition to the scanned model itself, we receive two additional models: a model with automatic retopology and a model with manual retopology. Automatic retopology is the process of creating a flat surface on a 3D model to simplify the process of texturing and animation.

Manual retopology and model texture restoration provides the opportunity to further improve the quality of the model by correcting and restoring damaged or missing parts. This can include adding or removing polygons, reshaping the model, etc.
