Białystok (also known as Białystok) is a city in northeastern Poland, on the Biała River. It is the capital of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. With a population of 297,554 as of December 31, 2019, it is the eleventh-largest city in Poland. The first mention of Białystok dates back to 1437, and city rights were granted in 1719.
