Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia, located on the Danube River in the foothills of the Lesser Carpathians, not far from the borders with Austria and Hungary. The town is surrounded by vineyards and there are many hiking and cycling trails in the forest. The old town of the 18th century is a pedestrian zone. It is famous for its lively bars and cafes. At the top of the hill stands the Bratislava Castle recreated from the ruins, which offers a view of the Old Town and the Danube.
