Erfurt is a city in Germany, the administrative center of the federal state of Thuringia. Located in the center of Thuringia, in the valley of the Gera River. University center and residence of the Catholic bishop. The historic city center is notable both for its size and for its degree of preservation, which is rare for Germany.
