Leipzig is a city in the federal state of Saxony in eastern Germany. In the center on the Market Square rises the building of the old town hall in the Renaissance style, which now houses the exposition of the Museum of the history of the city. One of the sights of Leipzig is the grave of the composer Johann Sebastian Bach in the Gothic church of St. Thomas. The latter is also famous for its boys' choir. Another well-known church - the Church of St. Nicholas - in 1989 served as a meeting place for participants in the Monday demonstrations that overthrew the communist regime in the country.
