Lyon is a city in the French historical region of the Rhone-Alpes, located at the confluence of the rivers Rhone and Saone. Tourists are attracted by the ancient Roman amphitheater of the Three Gallias, built 2000 years ago, the buildings in Old Lyon, erected in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as the modern Confluence district on the Presqu'ile peninsula. The city is famous for its traboules - narrow passages between buildings. One of these passages connects Old Lyon with the Croix-Rousse area.
