Reims is a city in the historic Champagne-Ardennes region in northeastern France, the unofficial capital of the Champagne wine region. The city is home to the headquarters of renowned champagne houses that offer wine tastings and cellar tours. The triumphal arch Mars Gate, dating from the 3rd century, recalls the time when the city was part of the Roman Empire. For more than 1000 years, French kings have been crowned in Reims Cathedral.
