Riyadh is the capital and main financial center of Saudi Arabia. The city is located on a desert plateau in the heart of the country. Among the attractions of the business district are the 302-meter skyscraper Burj Al Mamlaka with an air bridge connecting the two towers, and the 267-meter skyscraper Al Faisal topped with a glass ball. In the historical district of Deira stands the Masmak fortress. It was from here that the Saudi seizure of power in Riyadh began in 1902.
