Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad, is a city located in the southwestern part of Russia on the western bank of the Volga River. During World War II, the Battle of Stalingrad took place here. In memory of this event, a monument-ensemble To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad was erected with the main monument - the statue Motherland. The panorama museum presents a circular panorama of the battle, as well as samples of weapons and military household items. To the south of the city is the Volga-Don Canal. There is a front arch at the entrance to one of the locks.
