The Civic Opera Building is a 555ft (169m) tall skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. The enormous art deco building is the home of the city's Lyric Opera House, housing one of the world's largest theaters with over 3,500 seats. The building was designed by the prolific Chicago firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst & White. Completed in 1929, the Civic Opera House was the city's tallest building until the completion of the Chicago Board of Trade Building just a few years later.While the building has been renovated and its appearance altered over time, this model captures how the building looked upon its completion.
