Concept pistol-Type 96.

I believe that designing concepts for future weapons should follow a few key principles:

Form follows human physiology. This means that, to a greater or lesser extent,
weapons of the future will still resemble modern firearms in shape and ergonomics.

Modern conflicts around the world are driving rapid innovation in military technology.
As a result, future weapons will likely become more compact, efficient, and multifunctional.

This hybrid pistol concept reflects those ideas. It is capable of firing both standard
9mm ammunition and laser pulses. Depending on the power level, the laser can serve multiple
functions: as a targeting system, a welding tool, a scalpel, and more.

I envision this as a glimpse into the future. Science fiction writers imagine bold
new ideas—and engineers eventually bring them to life. Just think of the communicator
from Star Trek, which later inspired the Motorola mobile phone.
