Historical Note: The Danton-class battleship was a class of six pre-dreadnought battleships built for the French Navy (Marine Nationale) before World War I. Built in 1906 and commissioned in 1911, it was sunk during World War I by the German submarine U-64 on March 19, 1917. On the coast of Sardinia. The Danton wreck was discovered in 2007 and formally identified in February 2009.
