The Daimler-Benz DB 609 Jager was an aircraft designed to use the in-development 16-cylinder DB 609 inline aero engine, which was presumed to be able to produce anywhere from 2 700 horsepower to 3 400 horsepower.
This powerful engine would be mounted in the front of the aircraft, which would allow room for a four-stage supercharger and a large calibre autocannon. Unlike any other design, the Jäger would have two contra-rotating props located in the centre of the fuselage, which - combined with it's powerful engine - would likely have given the aircraft an astonishing maximum speed.
A mockup fuselage was partially built before the Reich Air Ministry cancelled the aircraft.
