This model has been inspired by the famous Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV) also known as Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV). The texture represents the standard paint job for this vehicle.
-
- The model itself was done in such a way to be suitable for easy rigging and animating. This means that the parts that are usually animated are separate objects (wheels, steering wheel).
To change the texture (in Blender) all you have to do is select a different texture under the Skin material.
This model does include a modeled, although not very accurate interior.
The Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV), also known as the Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV), is a lightweight, high-mobility off-road buggy developed for U.S. special forces during the 1980s, particularly for use in desert warfare. Originally built on a modified dune buggy chassis, the DPV emphasizes speed, agility, and firepower, with features like long-travel suspension, a rear-mounted high-performance engine, and weapon mounts for machine guns or grenade launchers. Designed for reconnaissance, hit-and-run raids, and rapid deployment in harsh environments like the Gulf War, its minimal armor and open frame allow for extreme maneuverability over sand and rugged terrain. Though largely replaced by more modern platforms, the DPV remains iconic for its role in early special operations and its unique blend of tactical speed and off-road capability.
