This original 1/10 scale door handle is based on vintage door handles. It comes in 2 versions. Threaded and non threaded.
Both versions are a 1 piece print, with the only difference being m3 threaded or a 3mm non threaded stub.The M3 threaded version is designed to accept an m3 nut directly to secure the door handle. These threads are designed extremely accurately, and therefore have very tight tolerances. Tested on our resin printer, even with a 0.04mm layer height will print the threads accurate enough for a standard m3 nut to fit without any issues.
You may have to very slightly rescale the print file in your slicer if your printer is not accurate enough. Resin printed products tend to be larger than the designed dimensions on a small scale so size compensation might be needed. If the nut does not fit nicely onto the threaded shaft, then it is possible to use a tap and die kit and thread the printed threads to clear enough space for the nut.
However the non threaded version exists should the threaded version just can’t be made to fit with your setup. The 3mm diameter stub version does exist, which can be threaded in m3.
Same with all of our other print files, it is highly recommended to print only with a resin printer to achieve the maximum amount of details, and do remember to wear PPE.
Post processing is the same with our other products. Use a spray primer depending on your resin type, then either spray paint or hand paint with model paints to your own liking. Top it off with thin coats of UV-proof clear spray. Feel free to use the renderings as an inspiration for your colour schemes!
