  • Description

Douglas DC-7C was built near to scale and in some good detail. The propellers, landing gear elevators, ailerons, rudder and flaps are animateable. It is fully textured and comes in several different formats. The DC-7C was that last variant of a long line of Douglas Propeller Driven Airliners developed in the 1950s. Starting with the development of the DC-4 series in 1939, these were a very successful line of aircraft. The DC-7C was four piston engine powered aircraft, the largest of these as well as the last. It could carry between 90 and 100 passengers on long range trips including across the Atlantic Ocean. However, it came just a couple of years before the introduction of the Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8 four engine jet airliners. The DC-7 was quickly relegated to smaller airlines and regional carriers. It served well into the end of the 20th century. A few are still flying and many are being restored by museums and private owners.
