3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (formula: C11H15NO2; CAS: 42542-10-9; systematic name: (RS)-1-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-N-methylpropan-2-amine), commonly known as ecstasy or E is a recreational psychoactive drug. It is a substituted amphetamine and has stimulant and hallucinogenic effects. It acts by increasing the activity of the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline.

When taken orally effects typically begin after 30–45 minutes. Adverse effects include addiction and memory problems. Deaths have been reported due to increased body temperature and dehydration.

MDMA is illegal in most countries and has no approved medical uses.
