Pointed tealight holders with stars and decorative lacing
What would Christmas be without candles, lights and stars? This filigree tealight holder is the perfect decoration for Christmas. It looks great both during the day and at night and makes an ideal gift!
A great DIY project with beautiful results. Easy to print and embellish.
The 3D files are optimized for FDM printing at home and can be printed without support.
What you need:
- 3D printer + filament
- Maxi tealight (with 5.8 cm diameter) or LED-tealight
- 5 mm wide satin ribbon or cord
- Hair dryer and glass bottle
Here are some brief instructions:
- Print the two parts (flat on the plate, without support).
- Clean the parts.
- Heat the star part piece by piece in front of a hair dryer and, when it becomes soft, shape it around a glass bottle that has approximately the same diameter as the base of the candle holder and allow the part to cool in its rounded shape.
- Put the two printed parts together.
- Attach decorative lacing to the holes at the back. It is best to start at the bottom of the front and lace upwards so that you can make a nice loop at the top.
- Insert the maxi tealight and your beautiful Christmas decoration is complete.
The choice of the printing material, the color of the lacing and the candle offer many different variations, allowing you to create your very own color combination.
The photos show two candle holders printed with wood PLA. One is made of brown wood with red satin lacing and a red candle, and the other is made of black wood with silver satin lacing and a white/transparent candle.
*IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, only use large maxi tea lights, NOT other candles or small tea lights! Normal small tea lights or other candles can slide to the side or fall over, potentially causing a fire. Never leave the candle burning unattended. Alternatively, use LED candles. *
