The Foshay Tower is a 607ft (185m) tall skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The building was built in 1929 as the tallest building in Minneapolis. Wilbur Foshay, the tower's namesake, was an eccentric businessman and pyramid schemist who envisioned the building as an art deco skyscraper modeled after the Washington Monument. The building opened to an over-the-top three-day celebration accompanied by music by John Philip Sousa.
