George Nakashima Sliding 4 Door Wall Hung Cabinet
Like all George Nakashima furniture, this wall hung cabinet blends the intention of utilitarian use with a commitment to craftsmanship and beauty. This piece features four sliding grilled doors, dovetailed edges and a front free-edge overhang. The doors feature pandanus cloth, a textile originating from the Maluku Islands of Indonesia. This cloth has a rich history of ceremonial and utilitarian use, including in canoe sails, a testament to its beauty and durability. The interior of this hanging wall cabinet is fitted with open shelves surrounding a slide out shelf and 4 drawers.
