The Glisenti Model 1910 was an early Italian military handgun adopted by the Royal Italian Army before World War I. Designed by Italian officer and inventor Bethel Abiel Revelli and produced by companies including Società Siderurgica Glisenti and Metallurgica Bresciana Tempini, the pistol entered production around 1909–1910 to replace the older Bodeo Model 1889. It was chambered for the 9 mm Glisenti cartridge and used a short-recoil locked-breech system with a detachable 7-round magazine. Although dimensionally similar to the more powerful 9×19 mm Parabellum round, the 9 mm Glisenti cartridge was loaded with less powder because the pistol’s locking system was relatively weak and could not safely handle standard Parabellum pressures.
