Description

This is the flag which the Mexica Aztec indigenous people used to represent their capital city, Mexico Tenochtitlan (pronounced me-SHI-co te-noch-TI-tlan). The Aztec flag was composed of the prickly pear cactus, with a flowering prickly pear fruit, and a stone or rock from where the cactus is born.
