LORE:

The total transition of the Empire to a modular system in space construction eventually led to the need to create a universal command module. The result of these studies was this command bridge. The adaptive control system and flexible architecture allow this module to be integrated into almost any vessel that has the right connector. In addition, as befits any Imperial design, this bridge received traditionally good armor and a strong internal hull structure. Here, too, for the first time, escape pods were installed to save the lives of the ship's key officers. And although this module was created in the early stages of the formation of a modular fleet and was designed for ships with a maximum of three sections, engineers soon adapted the bridge systems to work in tandem with new auxiliary modules. This improvement has expanded the capabilities and significantly increased the service life of this command module.
