IRIS-T SLM (IRIS-T Surface Launched Medium Range) is a medium-range air defense and missile defense system developed by the German company Diehl Defence. It uses IRIS-T missiles and is designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles. The launcher is unmanned and has eight IRIS-T SL missiles (effectors). The launch is vertical to allow for 360-degree azimuthal engagement of targets. The launcher is equipped with all necessary subsystems (electric generator, fire control system, radio station, etc.) and can be located up to 20 km from the control center.
