John I of Luxembourg, nicknamed John the Blind, was King of Bohemia from 1310 to 1346 and Count of Luxembourg. Blinded towards the end of his life, he died heroically at the Battle of Crécy in 1346, fighting alongside the French against the English during the Hundred Years' War. His courage and sense of honor made him a legendary figure in medieval European history.
