Das LCT-5 war ein kleines Landungsschiff für amphibische Operationen. Es konnte bis zu vier Panzer, Radfahrzeuge, Truppen und dutzende Tonnen Nachschubgüter transportieren, wurde aber im Laufe der Zeit auch für Spezialaufgaben eingesetzt.
