A medieval boat, known today as the “Kalmar Boat.” It represents a transition between Viking shipbuilding traditions (such as drakkars) and later, more capacious cogs. Dated to the 13th century, it was primarily used for coastal trade and cargo transport. The vessel’s name comes from its place of discovery – the city of Kalmar in Sweden. This model can be used both in games and in educational projects about medieval trade in the Baltic region – especially when combined with the other vessels we are gradually publishing.
