Description

The Kollerup Cog is a historically accurate 3D model of one of the earliest known cog-type ships — a transitional design bridging the gap between Viking vessels and the later Hanseatic cogs that defined Baltic maritime trade.

Discovered in 1978 near the northwest coast of Jutland, the original ship dates to around 1150 and was built from timber felled near Schleswig. Its flat bottom and wide hull allowed it to rest safely on shallow shores, ideal for coastal loading and unloading along the Baltic and North Sea.

Measuring approximately 21 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width, it was an impressively large vessel for its era — even compared to many later medieval cogs.

This model is perfect for:

-Historical or educational visualizations

-Game and cinematic environments

-Museum and maritime reconstructions

-Medieval ship collections or asset packs

Features:

-Realistic topology and proportions based on archaeological sources

-Clean geometry, optimized for rendering and animation

-PBR-ready materials (color, roughness, normal maps)

-Suitable for Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, and other 3D workflows
