Classic Medieval Saracen Tower built during XV century by roman popes to protect Italian coasts against frequent saracen raids and pirates attacks.Saracen Towers were built directly in face of the sea to immediately activate defenses by part of the tower garrison and the nearby population; furthermore each tower was in direct view with to others along the coast in order that any message could reach the pope command in a short time.
