1/8 MH-6 Little Bird EPS (External Personnel Pods) - Early Style

This is a highly detailed 3D model of the early-style EPS (External Personnel Pods) system for MH-6 Little Bird helicopters. The model is in 1/8 scale and specifically optimized for FDM 3D printing using a 0.4mm nozzle.

Printing Details:

  • Supports: The print does not require supports, with the exception of the tubes. I have designed custom, easy-to-remove supports for the tubes, allowing them to be printed vertically.
  • Alternative Parts: The printed tubes can be easily replaced with off-the-shelf 4mm plastic or styrene rods if preferred.

**Test Print: **The model shown in the photos was successfully printed on a Bambu Lab P1S using PLA Basic (White). The grey version shows the model after applying a Citadel Colour primer.

Required Hardware & Tools for Assembly:

  • 12x M2x8 screws
  • 4x M2x6 screws
  • 4x M2x10 screws (Optional: M2x9 with a nut or M2x8 without a nut work better)
  • 12x M2 nuts
  • Paperclip or thin metal wire (Optional: needed to create a platform lock/pin)
  • Pin vise / Hand mini-drill (Optional: needed to drill the hole for the platform lock)

Assembly & Files Included:

  • The design is engineered to make the assembly process as simple as possible. Included in the product files are a PDF assembly manual and a 3D scene containing the assembly guide.

The download includes 4 files each in X_T, Plasticity, Blend and STL formats:

  • The fully assembled model.
  • 2 pre-arranged build plates with all parts ready to print.
  • 3D scene showing the step-by-step assembly process
  • Please note that this is a standalone 3D model. It has not been tested with any existing physical models on the market, so I cannot guarantee compatibility or a perfect fit with any commercial scale model kits.
