  1. The Overall Concept This asset is a classic Ranch style house, also known as a Rambler. It is a long, single-story home that was extremely popular in American suburbs during the 1950s and 60s, designed for easy, level living.

  2. Mixed Material Facade The exterior walls use two different materials to create visual interest. The left side is built from light beige brick, while the right side (around the garage) is covered in vertical wooden siding, a signature look of the mid-century era.

  3. Low-Pitched Roof The roof is very low and gently sloped, rather than being steep and pointy. It features wide overhanging edges (eaves) that cast shadows on the walls, emphasizing the horizontal shape of the building.

  4. Integrated Garage Unlike older houses where the garage was a separate shed, this house has the garage built right into the main structure. It features a wide wooden roll-up door and a short concrete driveway ramp leading up to it.

  5. Large Picture Window On the brick section of the house, there is a massive rectangular window. This picture window was designed to let in huge amounts of natural light and allow the family to look out at the front yard.
