The Milwaukee City Hall is a 353ft (108m) tall building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The tower municipal building was designed by Henry C. Koch and constructed in 1895. Its bright orange brick, ornate clock tower, and striking Flemish-Renaissance Revival style make it one of America's most unique and stunning city halls. The design was meant to reflect the German character that waves of immigrants in the late 19th century brought to Wisconsin's largest city. For a brief period after its completion, Milwaukee City Hall was the tallest building on Earth. It remained the tallest building in Wisconsin for almost 80 years until it was dethroned by First Wisconsin Center (now US Bank Center) in 1973. The building underwent an extensive restoration in the 2000s. Thanks to these efforts, this unmistakable landmark stands tall as an undiminished, spectacular piece of America's architectural heritage.
