On the market, several manufacturers make sheets of different building materials and have thought about doing some of these for a while. When someone approached me to look at doing these they complained that the cost of these sheets was getting more and more expensive, so I thought it was time to add them to my collection.

I had thought about doing them in the past with my resin printer but are probably better suited to FDM printing, This design is based on the type of cladding you find on industrial buildings.I have added fixing detail but this may or may not print depending on the printer you have, scale you are printing and nozzle size.Other options will be added as and when I get to them, so if not available please wait or feel free to contact me.

I have included the following sheet sizes (sheet sizes are based on brick size in the OO scale).50mm x 46mm, 50mm x 92mm, 50mm x 184mm.100mm x 46mm, 100mm x 92mm, 100mm x 184mm.150mm x 46mm, 150mm x 92mm, 150mm x 184mm

The sheets are 1.2mm thick which is based on the layer height being 0.06mm.

designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale but can easily be scaled for other gauges.for HO gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale, for TT gauge print at 63.5% 1/120 Scale, for O gauge UK at 175%, 1/43.5 Scale, for O gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 Scale, for N gauge print at 51.49%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not printed this model in N gauge so I can’t guarantee its printability)

The example in the pictures was printed on a Bambu Labs A1 FDM Printer. As normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much.

For FDM printing, I used a 0.2mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.06mm using PLA+ filament. You can use a 0.4mm nozzle but the profile of the panels won't be as sharp, can also be printed in PLA but I recommend PLA+ or PETG for better durability. Note print times vary depending on sheet size, this isn't a design that uses a lot of filament. Printing with a 2mm nozzle does take a while but the end product is worth the wait.
