The Midnight Ember Concept
I designed this piece from scratch with a specific vision in mind: the intersection of structure and chaos. I wanted to move away from the rigid, lifeless furniture often found in digital libraries and create something that felt genuinely lived in yet undeniably expensive.
The inspiration came from the contrast of a city skyline at night. The dark, navy-charcoal base with its precise diamond quilting represents the structure of the city architecture—solid, reliable, and geometric. To break this monotony, I introduced the Ember elements: the vibrant orange piping and pillows. These represent the life inside the building—the warmth, the energy, and the human element.
Technically, I spent hours sculpting the cloth simulation for the throw pillows. I didn't want them to look like stiff blocks; I manually refined the folds and wrinkles to simulate the weight of heavy, high-quality velvet and silk. The result is a model that looks inviting enough to touch, perfect for high-end architectural visualization or as a standout piece in a game environment. For 3D printing enthusiasts, the geometry was kept watertight to ensure the quilting details translate beautifully into physical resin or PLA prints.
