The Porsche 911 is the flagship of the current line up of Porsche. It is a two-door grand tourer made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a distinctive design, rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356.

The name "Targa" came from the Targa Florio sports car road race in Sicily, Italy in which Porsche had notable success. In January 2014, Porsche introduced the new model year 2015 Targa 4 and Targa 4S models. These new models come equipped with an all-new roof technology with the original Targa design, now with an all electric cabriolet roof along with the B-pillar and the glass 'dome' at the rear.
