INTRODUCTION

Unveiled in April 2021 by Danny Choo and the team at Culture Japan (shop.smartdoll.jp); designed by @Stella (Instagram), the Quantum Retrograde Bike is a modern engineering marvel. The bike is a bold open air pc chassis designed exclusively for ITX motherboards. Merging aesthetics, function, and fandom, this concept chassis transforms your PC build into a futuristic ride with full visibility and showpiece appeal.

Designed in Tokyo Japan

Even though the case is designed for a Mini-ITX motherboard, the bike's length is ~86.5cm (34 inches) in length x 21.5cm (8.5 inches) in width, which takes up a lot of desk space.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Approximately: 86.5 cm (34 in) length × 21.5 cm (8.5 in) width
  • Weight: Approximately 4.5kg (10lbs)
  • Mini-ITX motherboards only
  • Can accommodate 2-slot height GPUs with a maximum length of 285 mm and width of 115 mm
  • Low profile coolers like AMD’s Wraith Stealth, Intel’s Laminar RM1, Be Quiet’s Pure Rock LP, and Noctua’s L9a and L9i coolers are recommended.
  • SFX Power Suppy

The bike is designed to made with 3mm or 1/8" acrylic. Or, if you're felling fancy you could use 3mm aluminum; just be aware of the additional weight, but I would love to see it. I also included 3MF files if you want to 3D print the bike frame.

If you are interested in the bike but not the PC aspect, you may be able to figure out how to modify it to house a motor(s) because the wheels do spin and the front wheel does tilt. The bike also has provisions for lighting (see photos for inspiration). Feel free to make your own modifications to really make it yours. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Tires are included if you attempt to print them. They have not been tested but should work. I recommend purchasing the tires, however. These are a good fit: https://www.ebay.com/itm/195611503839.
