A rapier with a swept-hilt hilt. Most likely made in the German lands, around 1600. The guard and pommel are gilded. The blade is narrow, straight, double-edged, and hexagonal in cross-section. A deep medial fuller runs approximately two-fifths of the way down the blade’s fort on each side. The ricasso bears the maker’s stamp on both sides. The hilt is wrapped in copper alloy wire. The sword’s length is 1190 mm.
