The 37 mm granatgevär fm/43 was a Swedish experimental recoilless grenade rifle developed in 1943. It was a lightweight, shoulder?fired support weapon designed to launch explosive, smoke, and incendiary grenades using recoilless technology derived from earlier Swedish anti?tank rifles. Tests showed it had high accuracy up to 300 meters, a rapid rate of fire, and strong fragmentation and penetration effects, making it suitable for urban combat, bunker?breaching, and ambushes. Despite promising performance, it was never adopted due to organizational and procurement concerns rather than technical shortcomings.
