Description

Shankaracharya Temple is a medium detail model based on the Shankaracharya Temple located in Srinagar, Kashmir Valley. The temple was originally built during the Bronze Age to house a linga, used symbolically in the veneration of Shiva, an ancestral god of the Vedic and IVC Sura and Asura peoples. Given the dating and location, it is highly likely that this is one of the very few surviving IVC Asura/Naga structures that wasn't destroyed along with the Indus Valley Civilization. This model depicts the Shankaracharya Temple as it was when it was photographed some time around 1843.

The model is UV mapped. Texture, displacement and normal maps are output to 4096 X 4096 pixels.
